I am tired of saying, Ooh that would be fun. I’d like to do that, and then NEVER doing it. Chapter Three is all about doing–I’m done with waiting for the right moment or person to do things with. Here is my working list of places I’d like to visit, restaurants and bars I’d like to try, and activities I’d like to do. If you want to join me on any of them, drop me a line!
GROW A TREE. I have an avocado it. Let’s see how it goes.
VERITAS. Been meaning to go here for years. Hello, it’s all about the wine list!
ALDEA. Cocktails, Michelin-rated menu, Flatiron District, contemporary design. I’m in.
EOLO. I’d really like to go here with my friend EM, with whom I first visited Sicily. (Em, maybe there will be Arabic influences?)
OLYMPIC MARATHON TRIALS. Why the fuck else would I ever go to Houston?
ICE SKATING. Wollman Rink, Central Park. No hand holding, thankyouverymuch.
OCEAN TO SOUND RELAY. One day. One van. Lots of sweaty bonding. You know what I mean. Or do you?
N&D Deli. In Ridgewood, Queens this joint is owned by a kimchee-cooking DJ (who is also a member of the band The Beatards).
WINE BARS. It’s the Golden Age, apparently. I want to be gilded.
DIA: BEACON. I nearly made it this summer but was thwarted. Canceling those plans still feels like a rope burn.
RUNNING TO EXPLORE. I want to run to explore parts of the city I’ve never been, and it’s outskirts (like the Palisades).
MAKE MY OWN PASTA FROM SCRATCH. Since 1994 I have wanted to do this. Honestly, what’s the hold up?
