That loud piercing noise you hear coming from Queens? That’s me jumping up and down and cheering wildly as I read this email from New York Road Runners. Ahem, ahem, and I quote:
Congratulations PIGTAILS FLYING! You are eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2008, which takes place on Sunday, November 2. You will be able to take advantage of this opportunity starting at noon on February 25 when the 2008 online marathon application becomes available.
It’s official! I am going to pound those mean streets of New York into sumbission with my Mizunos (or with my Nikes, I haven’t decided yet what my outfit will be for that day.)
(Time for joyous profanity, so if you are squeamish, proper, or boring, close your eyes.)
FUCK YEAH! I’m running New York, nah nah nah nah nah.
Congrats! I won’t be guaranteed till next year, but I’m thinking of doing the lottery this year anyway. We’ll see…
If you can make it here you can make it ANYWHERE!!!
I am very proud of you!

Thank you! My one-man cheering fan club!
That’s amazing news. Congrats! We’ll be there cheering you on — somewhere close to home. Say, 4th Ave. and Union St.
Congrats…it always feels better when its official. Will this run be for parkinsons?
Go lady go! Am so proud and excited for you. Your blog is lovely, and almost cried when reading about your dad. My dad was always sweaty, too–from yard work.
