It could have been the Coca-Cola I had at 3pm; or maybe it was the marshmallow I had at 4:30. Perhaps it was the fact that I haven’t been able to get in a run since my PR on Sunday, February 10th (for that, we can blame insomnia, my authors, designer handbags and another, attention-addicted blogger who will remain nameless) and my legs were restless. And, chances are good it had at least a little something to do with the manic multi-tasking I was pushing all day at the office.
Well, whatever it was, I had a fantabulous run home this evening, hitting one of my best times ever for the route, running the 3.5 miles in 31:35. Jiggity jig, indeed. It was one of those runs where my legs were turning with self-satisfied reliability (look what we can do!). Each body check was a pleasant surprise as I realized I could maintain the pace and the effort all the way home. Granted, there was a certain amount of fortunate timing involved, as I was forced to halt for just one red light the whole way home, which is pretty unheard of.
Anyway, I’m happy. I hope you are too, for reasons of your own, of course. After all, it is Friday.
