My friend who blogs at A Special Way of Being Afraid has this excellent round-up post that he does on a regular basis called “Elipses,” in which he links with one-liners to his favorite stuff on the web of that week.
I am going to completely rip off his idea. First two links are courtesy of Husband.
I watched the first half of the Pre Classic this Sunday, and was completely driven to fidget by the maddeningly tense hurdles races, with false starts that eliminated the top-seeded hurdlers in both the women’s and the men’s events. This article in the New York Times talks about how the current world-record for men in the 110m hurdles was broken by a Cuban, making me think that it could end up being one of the most electric t&f events at the Olympics this year….Also in the Times, proving that journalists will go to any lengths to tie their piece into “Sex and the City,” is an article about newfangled Japanese running shoes that use the super-gripping powers of rice husks in their soles….Even though the heat wave has passed us by (for now), here are some hot-weather running tips that are good to review….Clearly too cool (and too young) for me, I nevertheless love ben & Jeremy. Anyone obsessed with the Gouchers can’t be half-bad…and my friend Sarah saw Brian Sell at this race last month (maybe I got to meet Deena but I’m still jealous)…
Good tips on running in the heat!

I’ve stolen so many things from other blogs I’ve lost count. Glad you like the feature…
