Let’s save the fuss for the analyzing in 365 days, shall we? Nine goals, one for each year of the millennium.
- Qualify for the 2010 Boston Marathon by running either the Flora London or ING New York City Marathon in under 3:45
- Log 1,500 miles.
- Maintain my weight after I run London. (Post-NYC this has been harder than I thought, given that my weekly mileage dropped from 50 to under 20 for a while there.)
- Set a new PR for the marathon, ideally breaking 3:45.
- Set a new 10k PR, ideally breaking 50 minutes.
- Set a new 5k PR, ideally breaking 24 minutes.
- Improve upon my mile time of 6:36 at the Continental Fifth Avenue Mile (if I have no scheduling conflicts). Sorry for the equivocation on this one.
- Run faster legs during the Green Mountain Relay. (This one’s more for my team than for me.)
- Improve upon my watch time of 56:16 at the Mother’s Day Title 9k.
Time to get crackin’!
Good luck on your ’09 goals!
Looks like we are both pushing ourselves in 2009!!
Could you add a 10th for your Mom…to wear that reflective vest while running alone in the dark? That would make me feel so much better.
Hi Mom. What you suggest is more a best practice than a goal. So I’ll add it to my list of other best practices, which include stretching and hydration. Thanks for looking out for me, woman.
Boo on #5…that’s barely better than 13.1 pace. Otherwise, I approve.
Really, EN? You think I should try and break 8 minutes per mile in the 10k? Am I being chicken shit by not going for it?
Good luck! I think if you can reach #2, the others will fall like dominoes…
