Ellipses Again?… (Leftovers for Dinner)

So a few weeks ago I was having a chop fight with MR (he’s an alternate on this year’s Green Mountain Relay team) on Twitter and dared him to run in a skirt. He agreed–if he could raise $1000 for a women’s charity. He’s only a quarter of the way there, help a guy out willya? I have a feeling he has pretty hairy legs (I’ll let you know for sure after I run with him on Thursday morning) but even more reason why we should get him in a skirt. DONATE and help save BOOBIES everywhere!… My sole Poconos-based running buddy, BG, seldom tweets and rarely blogs. But when he does, he tells sweet stories about how a tacit agreement with a trucker helped him save a bird’s life. Spurious Noise, check it out… Musician and runner Lady Southpaw told us months ago about the London Marathon’s call for great running songs to include in monthly iMixes for their racers. I finally got around to downloading two of her original rock compositions, which were written expressly for runners. I grabbed “Engineering Masterpiece” and “Why I Run.” And yes, she will tell you, you can get ’em off iTunes!… My upcoming transatlantic journey will not require me to brush up on any foreign languages. Nevertheless, it would be helpful to know how to say FUCK YOU in a few additional languages just for getting around Sunnyside, Queens. And interestingly, Sweden is listed twice. Are people so angry there that they need two ways to say it?… I would very much like to meet this woman, because she is intelligent, lively, generous, committed, and tough as nails… SOBERING… It may be time to try and fit this destination run into my schedule. Who’s in?… I wish someone made nervy running shirts like these jerseys for cyclists. Mine would say “Waggle your tongue at me one more time you ignoramus and I’m kicking you in the balls.” Will that fit on a tee-shirt?… Husband guilelessly says this should be the last thing runners have to worry about… Last week I attended a Texas Hold ‘Em fundraising event for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. I saw MJF from a distance, and he addressed the crowd. Here is a fuzzy picture. Oh and I suck at poker, but it was great to be in Guastavino’s again, especially since it lives underneath my bridge… Turns out Nike has discontinued my beloved Air Zoom Elite+ running shoes. I had to order them online from a random retailer, since I am definitely not going to try out a new style of shoe this soon before my big marathon…
