So, a couple of months ago I made grandiose claims to wanting to lose weight as part of my training, to work towards my time goals and improve my overall fitness and health. (See my post “Transposition.”)
I am not making excuses but since (on principle) I do not have a scale at home, it’s tough for me to weigh myself on a regular basis. But, today I went to the gym (for a tempo run), and weighed in.
141.5 pounds.
Still not runner-light, but lighter than before. Still working towards 134, but I may as well ‘fess up and tell you all I’ve been enjoying chocolate ice cream with peanut butter lately. Yeah, I know, not exactly the “one smart choice” a day I’d posted about!
I am aiming to have these weigh-ins every Monday, as I think that’s going to be the day of the week I get up and do my tempo runs at the gym before work.
I need to experience this nutella ice cream i keep hearing about. Especially now with the weather getting warmer.
jennifer in ct sent me. i’m getting back to running (slowly!) following a ligament tear in my ankle almost 2 years ago. i’ve (insanely) committed, publicly no less!, to running the 5mi leg of the mayor’s midninght sun marathon in june 09.

i’ve really enjoyed your blog. funny… the desk guy at the gym calls me “Pigtails”, as in, “You’re LATE, Pigtails.”
